    About LIGUM

  • The LIGUM is Quebec's largest academic computer graphics research lab, with 3 full-time faculty working a diversity of problems in both theoretical and applied CG. With over 15 full-time and part-time students, as well as 2 additional affiliated faculty members, LIGUM tackles problems in the areas of:
  1. Realistic rendering and appearance modeling,
  2. Procedural modeling and terrain synthesis,
  3. Interactive graphics, including real-time rendering and animation,
  4. Physically-based animation of fluids and characters,
  5. Robustness for solid modeling, B-splines and subdivision surfaces, and
  6. Non-photorealistic and artistic rendering.
The LIGUM has a strong relationship with many leading industrial partners in various computer graphics sectors, including video games, feature-film production, high-performance graphics hardware, and high-fidelity realism simulators for training purposes. An abbreviated list of our industry partners include Disney Research, Microsoft Research and Microsoft Game Studios, Moko Studios, Ubisoft, NVIDIA, Electronic Arts, and nGrain.

We are always looking for motivated people interested in working on the state-of-the-art of future computer graphics techniques. For more information, please refer to the websites of Professors Bessmeltsev, Thomaszewski, Poulin and Stewart or feel free to contact any of the members of LIGUM.
